i've been searching all day on here and no one goes past this point.

i have no start

I checked:
theres No spark at coil
replaced with new coil, still no spark
theres No voltage at positive terminal on coil
fuses and relay are good
cps switched out last month
o2 sensors changed
good fuel pressure (pump whirls at key on also)
i can't get the codes to flash on the odometer
check engine light is not on

where do i go for no voltage at coil?
cam position sensor?

thank you all

First thing first. What year? What engine?

we'll i'm not sure where the primary wires (white wire and green/yellow stripe wire) on the coil come from to check the ground. the ground on the frame from the battery is good though.

im talking abou the grounds on the pass side of the block near the rear of the block.

Also remember, new parts can be faulty

OBD-II scanner..

ive had a bad crown automotive coil before... went after 1 week. buddy had a dead CPS brand new from Advanced...GP sornsten or something like that..

i found two specs, which one is it.

"Connect an ohm meter between the leads. Cold, you should read app 250 ohms. Anything in that ballpark indicates a good sensor."

"Place ohmmeter across term B and C ,meter should be set to 1K-to 10K scale. The meter reading should be open no resistance Replace sensor if low resistance is indicated."

also i found there should be 5 volts going to the cps.

ok, here's the test results.

i used the ->+ setting since all the other settings only gave me .0L, 0.L, or 0L. on the screen. i am not experianced with using a meter.

while looking at the end of the disconnected harness and the clippy thing on top (clippy thing being the part of the harness that clicks the two harness together). I have three terminals and I'll call them A (left), B (center), C right).

Ohm readings between terminals:
A to B: 1.132
A to C: 1.648
B to C: .611
before contact with any terminals my meter reads: .0L
i was not sure what and open resistance or infinity would read.

VDC between terminals on the otherside of the harness with key in run position"
VDC readings of terminals:
A: 5.12
B: 0
C: 5.13

so is it dead.

thanks for all the help on this. i'm running out of time and nerves.

i'm really stumped at why the codes will NOT flash on my odometer and why there is NO voltage going to the coil.

where do those two wires on the primary terminals on the coil come from?

My meter manual says the ->+ is for testing diodes. so now the question is what does .0L mean.

i got 0L on every Ohms scale so my cps must be ok.

so i'm back to ground zero.

will a bad cam shaft sensor keep me from getting a zero voltage to coil?

No only a bad CPS. The cam sensor is bypassed when bad so you can limp home for service. I still think your CPS is bad, the Ohms test don't prove much.
