what to do in NC

I am gonna be in greensboro NC for memorial day weekend (visiting my dad) and I am curious what kinda stuff there is to do in that area for fun
I am big into nascar so at some point during the weekend I plan on tryin to hit some race shops but otherwise my weekend is pretty much up in the air

You have Uwharrie Nat.forest down Hwy 109 from Greensboro, about 20 mi of trails.

Don't know what type of fun you're looking for..if you are into the bar thing go downtown...they are everywhere. If you like baseball you should check out a Greensboro Grasshoppers game...they just built the nicest minor league stadium around, nice place. Otherwise there are great resturants and some wheeling close by (45 minutes or so)at Uwaharrie Nat. Forest.

Uwharrie is about 45 minutes to an hour or so away from GSO...not too bad. If you're lookin for a place to get a little muddy theres an open field that people frequent alot over by the Carmike theatre and Best Buy. I've been back there once with my A/T's and almost got stuck....its some pretty soupy mud back there.

As far as a night on the down, would recomend the downtown night life.

and Carrowinds is about an hour and a half from greensboro....bit far to go if you're just here for the weekend.
