No such thing. I've only got four - and I'd like to get more (and get my neighbours REALLY honked off!)

Of course, if I finally get an M35, I'll take up at least two parking spots with that - but I also live on a corner lot, and I get tired of "visitors" parking there because they're "visiting" someone down the block for weeks on end. There's a CJ-7 that hasn't moved in a month - I'm wondering if I can grab it... (33's, probably 5", winch, bull bar, ... Even if I don't keep it as are as a buggy starter, I can swap parts to one of the XJ's....)

Call your local towing company, they'll usually give you a sign for free. It's a god deterrent, and if it sits long enough you just call and have it towed :)

I've been IP banned from GLXJ myself.

At any rate, here is the post from JF:

I am reposting this as the person that wanted it couldn't get it quickly enough. I am giving away for free a 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport 2 dr with 165k miles. The Jeep runs great. I just replaced the rear main, did a tune up, and the tires have about 300 miles on them. I was going to paint the jeep, so some of the paint is stripped off of it. The driver door is off, and the drivers sided fender is off, although they both come with the Jeep and the fender is brand new. I took out the glass on driver side so I could fix a small rust patch, so that is still out as well. You will have to jump it to take it because its been sitting for about 5 months. You may want to bring a truck to take the fender and door, because im not sure if it will fit in the jeep without really cramming everything in. I will sign the title over to you as soon as you take it. The Jeep is in St. Charles, IL, which is about 1 hr west of Chicago.

If you want it, email me at gates21@sbcglobal.net (gates21@sbcglobal.net). I need you to take it by next Friday.

** Once again so there is no misunderstanding, the jeep has no driver door on, although it does come with one. It drives fine but u will be driving it with no door or side glass.

Thanks,
Aaron

Yeah - but then I'd have to pay to get it myself - and I just don't have the readies to make that happen.

Besides, the other thing I'd probably run into is that while it is adjacent to my home lot, it's still a public right-of-way that it's parked on. I'd not call it a "blight" - it's still entire and driveable/road-worthy - I'm just tired of looking at it. I'd not be tired if it belonged to me.

The whole oddity is that I have spent most of my life constantly wargaming and scanning for threats (which has come in handy more than a few times,) and it presents "noise" to my scanning - because it's always there, but it's not mine and can't be readily dismissed. I know that's strange, but it's just the way my mind has become accustomed to working, and I see no particular reason to change it...

I see, I had made the assumption that it was private property. Not much you can do if it's a right of way.
I hear the clutter part, never can be too suspicious, and it does get difficult when there are randomly parked cars about.

Yeah. Damn. If it was private property, there would be signs up to the effect of "Vehicle ownership is forfeited after 30 days, unless prior arrangements for storage have been made." Then, I'd have myself a CJ-7!

If I call the City, they'll haul it off, and I'll probably have an opportunity to get it after a month - but I rarely have the readies to pay for 30 days of storage fees. I'd like to talk them into just leaving it here - and I can claim it if it's not gone in 30 days, but that's probably a non-starter...

Actually, that link takes me to the GLXJ home page. I can't view their vast database of a forum from work though.
