hi..my friend some tiny surface scratches on the hood on his pathfinder...i think they are just in the clearcoat, but he had waxed and use scratch remover to try to get rid of them but they didnt go away. anyway i remember i was on an offroad magazine site a little while ago that had an faq video that helped explain how to use a buffer and buffing compound to fix the scratches without having to repaint. if anyone knows where a good faq is help me out please. thanks.

Using a high speed buffer and compound will take out light scratches in clear coat. Deeper scratches will need to be sanded out (carefully) with 2000 grit sandpaper first before buffing. I have been doing this for 8 years now, PM me if you have any questions.
