ive almost got my d44 rear finished with 456s locker etc.. my question is, can i use it now, and leave my front 30 with the stock gearing in, if i remove the drive shaft? ive got a 44 front im building, but im a month or two from having it finished.

x2. If you should somehow accidentally pull it into 4wd, things will go badly.

so as long as i leave the front shaft out ill be all right for daily driving ? this is my dd so i i cant afford to screw it up.

you could leave the front the shaft in. Just DO NOT pull it into 4wd.

I wouldn't want to take the chance. Its just 8 bolts and 5 minutes.

Yep. remove the front driveshaft. I ran like that for several weeks. I installed my D44 with 4.88's and disconnected the front DS, no problems.

Do not take any chances.
