Hello,
I am going to put a lighter in the rear area so I can plug in an electric cooler.
What are the specs on the type of wire to use for a long run?
The cooler I am looking at draws 3 amps.
Thanks

Eric,

Run 12 gauge to be a little overkill to be safe.

12 gage would be more than adequate for three amps even on a long run. One more thing I would mention is to use wire that has allot of fine strands rather than few bigger strands. It will hold up bester and be easier to get it tucked in nice as it is more flexible. I’m planning to run a 4gage welding cable to the back and run my compressor off it as well as an outlet and possibly an inverter.
