damnit........thats pisses me off. CJ's are ugly as poop anyway. Why graft a round front end on the front of a box on wheels? What upsets me the most is some inbred f*ck was sittin there on his porch looking at his XJ and CJ with a big ole dip-filled grin on his face, plotting the inbred vehicle that would represent his family tree. :gonnablow

Somebody grafted a WJ nose on a XJ a few months ago... might have looked better with a 97+ with their more rounded edges....

From what I can tell from the photo, it looks like a pretty good job. I like the way he matched the lines with the front door. It looks like you could fit a big engine in there. A V-8 would fit easily. There's room for a big radiator too.

maybe if the jeepster was lit on fire, and melted it might form to something like that...
That is just awful...I mean the lines do not even work, it is disgusting...I am going to be sick.

Must be hard being such a closed minded fool.
Also, something tells me you couldn't do that sort of fab work to save your own life.

I couldn't do that (hell, any) sort of fab work to save my life, but I still know fugly when I see it.

Combining two different cars into one. That's just crazy.
Might look a little better if it had a little bit of a lift on it.

It does remind me of a Jeepster/Commando. I actually kinda like it. They did a good job of carrying the body lines through on the front. But should have continued rounded edges along the roof line. Also rounded the tailgate specifically.
I also think the 4-door Wrangler is a very cool looking vehicle. Reminds me of the OLD Land Rovers, with their vertical lines, but short WB's and narrow tracks.

if they extended that wheelbase up front a bit... maybe it wouldnt look so bad to be honest.... that way I would simply puke instead of puke blood.

well it is that the lines do not match up at all....There is no transition from the smooth rounded corners of the CJ front to the rigid sharp edges on the XJ...if he had some transition...It would look better.

Not sure what my name has to do with anything. Chicks do in fact dig wagons, at least all of mine. Thats something of an inside joke. Besides, while I do have a few fab skills in me, I know well enough that I could never pull off a graft job like that. It inspires me to become better at what I do. Makes me appreciate the effort even more.
are you defending the sodomized xj?
No, I'm defending the person who put a lot of effort into it. While I agree that it looks like an abomination, I can wholey appreciate the skill and time involved in something like that and I think we all should try to. Its one thing to say "Yeah, thats pretty ugly." Its entirely another thing to say:

You and I both know it takes way more than some "inbred f*ck" to build something like that. For you to seem like you're about to blow a gasket over something like an XJ (one of the most common SUVs on the road, not a rare one of a kind) is not only silly, it makes me wonder if maybe you don't have some rage control issues...
Case and point, the average consumer feels that same way about our entire sport. They see a lifted or heavily modified vehicle, XJ or otherwise, and many of them get angry for no good reason. Its closed mindedness like this that is bad for our sport. The thought that you're opinion is better than somebody elses is exactly what gives our opponents their power, and exactly why we need to be more open minded.
We're not going to get anywhere in this world getting worked up over somebodies hard work and effort - at least of the variety that does no harm to anybody. Just wanted to point that out, I hope you can at least partially understand my viewpoint.

WHY? Cause the CJ is the best looking jeep ever! But yeah in this case the xj stuff kinda ruins the look. I own both but I'd never dream of combining them. :firedevil

Thats the one!
For the record, you do know that the Cherokee was classified as a Station Wagon for many years, right?
For the record, you do know that the Cherokee was classified as a Station Wagon for many years, right?
In California at least, the date range on that seems to have been 1984-2000, with the DMV designating them as SUVs in 2001. The registration on my current (2000) XJ lists the body style as station wagon, but on the previous one (2001) it was considered an SUV.
Which is fine by me - I'll be the Griswolds if it means I get a break on my insurance as a result :D
I actually kinda like the CXJ. Its not too ugly...

Looks kinda goofy. Like those old VW Beetles with the Rolls Royce or Mack Truck front clips. Maybe we'll see it up on ebay someday, then we'll see what the rest of the world thinks.
I sense a lot of insecurity around the square headlight set.:kissyou:
