Can the bearing retainer ring for a D44 be purchased by itself? I'm doing the disc brake conversion on my D44. I am setting up a spare set of shafts that have good bearings and really don't want to shell out $40 for new bearings if I can just find the retainer ring by itself. I called Autozone and Napa and neither one of them could find the ring by itself. Does it have a special name? Anyone??

This should be the part number at the dealer...
Mopar #83504190
...or call DrivetrainDirect or visit your local Dana/Spicer dealer. One of these places should have what you want.

That part # is coming up as the retainer plate. I'm looking for the bearing ring/collar that is towards the splined part of the shaft. It might just be easier to just buy the new bearings rather than wasting time tracking down just the collar.
