242 t-case oil slinger

Hey all,

2000xj, 242 tcase, (removing sye kit)

long story but I have to r-r the main shaft on my tcase. I'm putting it back to stock, I'm wondering about the two seals on the rear shaft. There is a oil seal, the goes on first, I'm pretty sure I can get that one on w/out the special tool. But my question is can I get the oil slinger/shield on w/out the special tool from the dealer or should I just limp it to the dealer?

Any hints? or Tricks to get it on?

Installing the slinger is no problem.
Use a PVC pipe and hammer.
It goes till it hits a snap ring on the shaft.

I used a piece of pipe from my volleyball net, what can I say.

The seal was a little tricky but with three hands and a hammer its on.
