With or without headliner?

I am going to be installing a rollcage soon and was wondering if anyone who has done this has left the headliner out? It seems to me that reinstalling it after welding-in the cage would be a real PITA. If you left it out, what downsides have you found?

I don't have a cage but removed my head liner to replace the cloth. All I can say is... Hot, Very Hot! It is going back in soon. That thin fiberglass mat really cut's down the effect of sitting in the sun.

I installed my D&C cage with the headliner in place. I just used a folded up pizza box to keep from burning the headliner.

i removed mine when i built my cage (before i cut the top off in the back).

i no longer ran doors or a hatch, so noise wasn't an issue for me. didn't notice it getting hotter, either
