Converting AC to 104, who's done it?

I guess this goes here since I'm modifying the AC. On my 87 I'm trying to convert it to 104, but once the adapter is on, there is no room to hook up the charger. How are you guys doing it? I'm talking about the fitting circled in red. This image is not of mine. These ones seem to angle up somewhat, but mine don't, they point directly at each other.

I turned the compressor fitting about 25 degrees and everything fit.

Ya, r134 :). Turned the fitting huh? I guess I'll have to try that next. Thanks for the input!
