coil spring removal question

kennzz05

basic dumbass
Location
palm coast fl.
I have 2in lift spacers i want to install. I am curious if this can be done with a spring compressor or do i have to disassemble portions of the front end to get these spacers in? Also how are the bump stops removed? 98 xj

if you disconnect the swaybar (big PITA if you dont have aftermarket disconnects) and jack up the opposite wheel and the spring almost falls out. You have to remeove the retainer, but thats really easy. Spring compressors are generally a good idea.

The bumpstops just pull out. you have to put some force behind it though

Good luck

ficksed it for ya

1. disco the swaybar
2. disco the lower shock mounts
3. jack up one side of vehicle, if spring doesn't come out easily, jack up the axle on the opposite side (like MIXJ said), which will make the 1st side droop even more

might have to unhook the track bar too
