Im new here and i searched but could not find a definitive answer.
Soon Im going to be purchasing rustys 4.56 gear package, front and rear lockers and a new dana 30 front carrier.
My question: is this all I need or am I missing something?

What brand are the kits?
I'd want Yukon rear and Superior front. Do not get Genuine Gear.

The D30 stock center-pin is not hardend. I'd replace it with a hardend pin.
I'm not familar with the 8.25.

the rustys gear package comes with front and rear superior gears, and overhaul kits.
Also, what would you recommend for some inexpensive lockers, nothing fancy, since im entering college in a few months and wont be doing much offroading, basically just beaches and sand.

I just re-geared my rig and went detroits front and rear. I figured the price of a Detroit wasn’t much more then what a new carrier plus a lunch box locker would have been, and a Detroit is quit a bit stronger. I’ve had it out on the trail a couple times now and so far love it.

Make sure you order the "TJ short pinion" gears for the D30,not the regular set for all pre 2000 XJ's.
