axle shafts

I got a little overwhelmed by my search results--I have a 96 2door with a d35 c-clip in the rear. I have access to some axle shafts for spares from an 88 d35 non c-clip. Will that work in the newer carrier? Thanks.

he's asking if he can run semi float35 shafts in a cclip carrier. why is it worthless. the semi floats have the bearing on the shaft, retainer, seal plus no slot for the c clip.
