Thermostat Question

Is there a difference between thermostats in H/O engines?

The reason I ask is the engine is my XJ is a replacement and I don't know what year it came from.

In checking eBay for thermostats I saw some guy listing t-stats for 94 - 95 4.0's. Are they different than the other years?

I'd like to do the job all at once... old one out, new one in... back on the road.

Nope, don't think so. I don't have a thermostat catalogue handy tho - if you go to the local and look through theirs (Stant or Robert Shaw,) you should be able to make sure. If they're all listed as having a 54m/m flange, you should be all right.

And people wonder why I say to cultivate a good relationship with the parts guys at a small local... My parts guys are used to me coming in with weird stuff like this!
