So on Thursday Remi and I go to the bone yard to pick up a few little items for our XJ's. Just a usual trip to the bone yard, about an hour before they close. I'm trying to get some lugs off and break three tools (One socket, one socket adapter, and one torque wrench), so Remi goes to the AutoZone down the street to grab tools while I stay behind to get some more stuff off some other XJ's...
When he gets a phone call from me "Get your ass back here and bring your jack, I just found a 44!"
Yes everyone, I found me a Dana 44 on the back of an '87 XJ Limited. I was quite happy! Well as soon as he gets back they start telling everybody that they're closing (Oh no!), so we get to work like mad on that axle. We pull it off in fifteen minutes, but couldn't get one of the wheels off (the lugs were in horrible shape), so we just load it up on the cart and go check out.
On Sunday I went back there to finish up getting all the stuff I didn't get.
I found another 44 under an '87 XJ Waggy! I pulled that off (alone this time), wrestled it on the cart, then went around grabbing the rest of my stuff. Paid for it, and loaded it into the girlfriend's Dodge Neon (that was interesting...) Before anybody tries to buy it, I'm sorry, that one has Remi's name on it.
