Front exhaust pipe to catalytic converter connection question

I'm getting ready to replace the orginal cat on back and have a question about this connection. It looks like there isn't a clamp for the front pipe/cat connection. Did mine possibly get so rusty it broke off? I also noticed the front cat pipe has two notches in it and the front pipe is keyed for the cat notches. Also, there is a welded hanger at the very end of the front pipe and mine is broken off. Any suggestions?

Thanks

1. Front clamp rusted and fell off. 2. Take the front pipe to a muffler shop and have a new hanger welded back on (note the hanger location, required length and orientation before you remove the pipe).
