AW4 1 to 2 shift

i've noticed in the past week that when my tranny shifts from 1 to 2 it's not as firm as it was, say, a month ago

it normally doesn't change with varrying throttle either

might i add that it's a minor difference, the average joe probably wouldn't even notice.......but its definately something i noticed

am i just being paranoid??

Check fluid level and change if its not as red as it should be. I wouldnt worry about it tho, many things can minorly affect your tranny shifts - such as temps and fluid lubricity.

just put it in drive... or rig up a switch to control the shift

check and adjust the TV cable

^^^fluid is fresh, not burnt, good color (changed approx. 5k miles ago)

^^I wasn't manually shifting, it was in drive

^what is the TV cable? haven't heard that acronym before

it controls pressures in the tranny, it connect to your throttle body. do a little searching and you'll find how to adjust it.

come to think of it, mine does this too, but it's accentuated in 4lo. it hasn't caused me any real problems... yet

oh, the "tv cable" is what i've heard referred to as the tranny kickdown cable
