From what I've read, the 3rd stoplight was added in 94 and was mounted inside the liftgate at the base of the glass. In 97 it was moved to a position at the top of the liftgate.

I think the lower position looks good too, but remember, if you install a swing away tire carrier it will cover the cyclops light. I wonder if a center brake light from a Wrangler could be fabricated to fit atop the rear mounted spare? Good Luck.
