put new vacuum acuator on axle, 4x4 now works great but 4x4 light on dash always on...any suggestions...

there is a mechanism in the transfer case that hangs telling the light to stay on when you are really out of 4wd.....mine does the same thing.....except i never replaced anything it just happend.....think i was going to fast when i hit a bump or something. Just make sure you are out of 4wd

The swith is located underneath the pressure bottle, it has a wire and a vac line running to it. Make sure the connector on the shift motor is on good shape and check for vac at the switch in both modes. One mode should have vac, one should not.

The light comes on when vacuum is applied to the switch.
