What Chrysler 8.25 axle splines do I have?

I have a 1996 XJ Country Edition w/ a Chrysler 8.25 rear end! I was wondering what axle splines came in that rear 27 or 29?? I have all the numbers off the axle if that would help? Let me know?? Thanks

Most likely 27-spline. Do you know your XJ's build date?

Could be either one,every 96 Ive worked on was a 29spline.

It was Manufactured on 01-96 I hope that means I got a 29 spline????

Nope, sorry. That would be a 27-spline. The 29-spline didn't come until the later part of 96.
