After two summers and two trashed power steering pumps (stock) I added a cooler to the power steering lines , now on the first warm-ish day we've had around here , the newest ps pump (just installed 3 mo. ago) is making a constant whining sound. I was planning on adding a filter adapter this weekend while I was doing some other things that needed to be done, but now I need to diagnose whats causing this whine.... the reservoir is full, oil is like new, not foamy, does not look like there is air in it...steering feels fine lock to lock, anyone have any ideas?

Check to see that your pump pulley is in line and paralell with the other pullies. If the mounting bracket somehow got bent or something it could take out the bearings in a hurry.

Thanks, I am thinking this is something internal to the pump , the pulley, bracket , etc are all adjusted properly and in good shape. ( I do know what you are getting at though)

Mine does that as soon as I use anything other than the clear Moper power steering fluid. Even if I top up with some other high end brand fluid it does that and even get cold lock up. Have to flush it and put the Mopar back in so carry some with at all times in case I have to top up on one of the Outback trips which happened last time and couldn't get the Mopar fluid.
