well, she's driving herself to the hospital, she doesn't need me to come and coddle her. Just means I'm gonna have to put up with bitchy later this evening.
I just tracked my rock rails ant ehy're not showing up till tomorrow, freakin DHL. The day just keeps getting better. Good thing he shot them with primer before they left, I don't have time for paint tomorrow.

Hmm, you must be in one of THOSE states!

87manche
March 2nd, 2006, 10:00
those states?

those states?

The way you worded it, and the way I took it, it sounded homosexual. As in there are a few states that have legalized gay marriages.

no way man, it's Ohio. We're definitely a red state.
His wife just had their baby.

I spose I should explain why she was bit by a rat.
My wife works in an animal testing facility, being a biologist she has to deal with very angry, pregnant rats that have been dosed with who knows what. Apparently this one got through her glove, and the bleeding was sufficient enough that they sent her off to the hospital to have the wound examined.

In my world, it's a no-brainer. Go take care of your wife. Work will always have a crisis. If your employer expects you to choose between them or your wife, they need a reallity check and maybe a new employee.

If I wanted to I could leave, but she said she was fine. They made her go because of liability reasons I suspect.

Yes, she says she is fine, and she is fine. She's a big girl and does not need you to coddle her. I understood all of that from the start. But, you mark my words: Someday, down the line, at some get together she'll tell a friend (or the whole freakin' group), "Yeah. I got bit by one of my lab rats and he couldn't even take off work to come see if I was going to live or not."

It'll happen. It might be 10 years - maybe twenty - maybe every time the two of you are at a function together: "He just left me in the hospital to deal with all the paperwork and everything. Not even a card or a phone call." Believe me, you'll regret not going. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But, someday, somewhere - you will regret it. Be an  . Bring a little :sunshine: to her life.

Let her know that you are more than just Friends - you share a Unity of Caring and Kindness. Who knows. A little extra effort now might bring a benefit later that might just save this day for you.

indeed, but I have called twice.
the real bummer is that this is going to cut into my Jeep WF prep time. I gotta install shackles tonight damnit!
You're talking to someone that went outside and worked on an MJ on his wedding day. I'm already doomed to her friends thinking I'm an ass. I am an ass, she knows it, she knew it before we got married. Hell it's been 8 years.

Let's see...spidey was bit by a radioactive spider.

Your wife was bit by a hormonal pregnant lab rat.

hmmm...

She's going to turn into a super hero who slinks around at night and bites muggers and rapists! :confused1

Oh, I couldn't care squat about her friends, but yeah - you ain't got nothin' to lose after that wedding day stunt. If she's stayed with you, more power to ya'.

Of course, you are missing an opportunity to claim her as an excuse to leave and go work on the shakles before she gets home, and have a beer while you're working on the heep. After all, like I said, what have you got to lose :gag:

well, we got married on Feb 4th, it was snowing like hell here. I asked if she wanted to take her Camry or the heep. She said she'd feel better in the heep. I said
"give me 20 minutes, I gotta fix the heat" went out in a suit, tore the dash halfway apart, had it backtogether in 15. Went to the B&B

Well, that's cool. It's not like you showed up at the church covered in grease :laugh3:

Still, it seems to me you're missing an opportunity here and the day is quickly slipping away.

Well, I couldn't send you a drink so I was just tryin' to help :laugh3:

I got to come back to the fact, though, that you could have been working on the heep all this time, and had a beer to boot. Good luck next week :gag:
