anyone know how many quarts of gear oil a Peugot manual trans. should be filled with?

Doesn't hold much, more than one and less than two if I recall. But it probably leaks so the leftover oil will come in handy.

your answer should be somewhere in the owner's manual if not the FSM. When I changed mine I seem to remember it taking at least 2 quarts.

Turns out it is full with just about 2 quarts in it. It's just in need of being rebuilt. Anyone got an extra one laying around they don't need?

start reading.
Rebuilding a BA-10 is ridiculously expensive. You'd be much better off finding a yarded AX-15 and doing the swap. You'll get a much better trans in the end.A member of the comanche board just found me one at his local u-pull it, gonna cost me about $150 with a new shifter, trans had 114K on it. The one I've got has 250K, and it needs a bearing. If I can get another 100K out of this one I think I'll get my money's worth :)
If you want to go all out this place has a kit that will let you put a new tremec 3550 in the Jeep, it'sw about $1500.
