Just thinking about future upgrades. Currently running 32's. Possibly will go to bushwackers and cut the fenders. Still running stock drive line with a transfer case drop that came with the lift. I may have to go to a SYE and new drive shaft. Then go up in tire size.
I am also thinking about regearing this summer. It has 3.55's with the trac-loc. Possibly going to 4.56's. Do we have someone in the club locally that knows how to do this???

I am working on it!
By the time you are ready to do it. I should be school'ed in gearing.

I always do my own gear installs, but I'm very bad at it. Then again, I've never had trouble or noise with them afterwards and have never had to redo any. Maybe I'm just lucky.
I just set the pinion depth first and immediately remove it. Then install the carrier and add shims until it feels right, with just a tad of drag like a wheel bearing. Reinstall the pinion. Then I smear some normal old grease on the ring gear and give it a spin. If it spreads the grease really thin and looks like the pinion gear teeth are going in fairly deep you're good to go. If not, start swapping shims side to side until it's right.
So far so good. 6 axles and counting.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the "ting ting ting" check! That's pretty much how I check backlash, just grab the pinion and rock it back and forth. You should have just a tiny little bit of play back and forth (that's the ting ting ting).
Can you tell I'm a cheapskate yet?
