i'm running it with an SYE and 2.5* shims on my 99 with 8.25" rear end. If you arent ever gonna get extended shackles, i'd go with 4*. I'm gonna throw longer shackles back there lift a little more and point the pinion a little higher

i am running 1.5" lift shackles and a SYE. everything works perfectly.
