rear axle hard line (brakes)

I am custom bending a hard line for the XJ D44 axle I bought. It was crushed by the wrecking yard when they removed the axle. I bought some replacement line with new flare nuts.

Can I use the new flare nuts or will I need to salvage the old ones? I'm asking because I have heard/read the nuts are metric that came with the XJ? So are the factor flare nuts English or Metric?

Take the old ones with you. Any good parts store should have both SAE and metric.

get rid of the drums, put disc brakes off of an 05 rubicon and buy new rubicon rear brake lines. works awsome. i just did that on my wifes tj and can't wait to get 4wheel disc on my XJ.

I don't know if they changed somewhere down the line, but all the brake fittings I've had on XJ's through 95 are SAE.
