One of the Creasy offroad workers is putting a dana 60 in his wrangler and is getting rid of his super 30, 4:56 gears, and detroit locker. He will sell and install it for me for $1100. Is this a good deal?
Thanks,
Seth

I was under the impression that the Super30 kit only came with an ARB locker.

My research says the same thing, I guess it is possible they replaced the ARB with a Detroit, But then if they did replace it, I might be leary of, does it really have the 4340 shafts? and the super joints.. Or were those taken out as well.:dunno:

That's a good chunk of change to spend on a built up dana 30, but it should be pretty stout. I'd try to see if you can get him under $850 or so. A big thing is whether or not it has manual hubs, nice strong u-joints like CTMs or OX and only then would I say yeah, it is close to $1K, but that you could do much better with getting a Waggy dana 44 and building it up. It's up to you, but if I had that $ into a front axle, I'd want to feel good about it going in a dana 44, 60 or something else rather than a polished factory axle.
In summary, I'd only get it if it has manual hubs, strong alloy aftermarket u-joints and other bling things.

Thanks guy's.
I've decided against it. But I am getting my gears and driveline done in the next week or so. That mean's I can actually do something besides web wheel. :laugh3:

Not that I have any first-hand knowledge regarding Creasey.....but I've had to help fix a YJ that they built up AmFork Cyn last summer, the engineering was poor and actually caused the breakage. I'm leery of anything they turn out, regardless of the $$ deal.
Rocklogic (Von Werritt) or Outer Limits (JR and Doug are out there)

They also told me that I didn't need a new carrier in my dana 30 to go from 3:07's to 4:56's. 4wheel parts, Mepco, Six states, and Gaylon Pugh told me that I do. Hmmmmm!
