4.0 wet now doesn't shift on time?

I degreased then sprayed off my 88's engine bay and now it tac's out in every gear before shifting. Has anyone else run into this before?

There's a good chance you got the TPS wet. The TCU uses it as one of the inputs to determine shift points.

hmm....I ran into a similar shifting problem and the kickdown cable just needed to be reset.

Not from washing it, seemed to happen after some heavy heavy wheelin (lots of water involved.) Just the symtom sounded familiar. It a two second adjustment so it couldnt hurt.

Thanks for the input. I put a new TPS on it and that cured it.
