Will a factory rear from a XJ swap into a MJ without modification? If not what is needed? JIM.

you will need new spring perches and shock mounts

XJs are spring-over-axle, MJs are spring-under-axle and even if you wanted to go SOA on your MJ, the leaf pads are a different distance apart. Welding is required. What are your plans?

Springs are different legnths as well....XJ's are about 49" and the MJ comes in at closer to 59".

This is what I needed to know. My plans are selling an axle I have. The buyer wants to put it in a MJ. Just trying to help him out. JIM.
