Price Quotes OK?

Hey everyone- My front bushings on my steering system are totally blown away and out. Also my bushing on my front control arms or alsmost totally deteriorated. THey are original...the Garage here (Jeep Specialists...?) have quoted me $275 for the steering bushings (4, installed) and $675 for the CA bushings+work. Does this sound high? Truck probably only worth 2000 bux rt now..It looks like I could do the first bushings myself, the mechanic said the CA's are a bear to work with and I would have trouble doing them right...any tips would be helpful, thanks. I am a novice/medium mechanic but eager to learn and have full set of tools. Oh, '91 sport 5sp 4.0 4x4 Im driving it till it dies, period. Original owner.....luv it...

wow, sounds high to me. as for the ca's, they'd be a bear if you tried to r&r them straight up.

go to autozone, and borrow a spring compressor. Remove the coils and have at it. If you cant get the bushings out/in the lca, bring the loose ca's to someone. should be a lot cheaper. replace old springs with new, taller ones.

Someone else may have better advice, but that's how i did it.

holy shit, i just re-read your post, 675 bucks plus labor for ca bushings, hahaha, i'm in the wrong business! Order some aftermarket ca's and toss 'em in for about 1/5th of that.

check discountjeepparts.com you can get complete CA's (with bushings) for both sides, uppper/lower for short money.
