np231 swap with non vac-disconnect axle

hey all,
i have a Np242 and i have thought about swapping to a 231 but i am not sure if i want to or not, but anyways with my 1990 xj having a 242 t-case, the front axle does not have a vacuum disconnect, so the yoke is always turning when i drive it. 231s have the vacuum disonnect axle, can i use a 231 without swapping to a disco axle or doin hub conversions. i dont wanna spend a lot of money on a d30.

You sure can. They eliminated the disconnect not long after your model year anyway.
