He passed away in his sleep between the times of 7:00pm and 11:00pm. He had been suffering with flu like symtoms for the past 2 days but we did not expect this. Earlier in the day he was up and about, talking, eating... He lived with us and was like a second father to me. He was 81 years old.

I have an uncle that is in his mid to late 80's. I do not expect him to go anytime but if he does it will be probably similar to your grandfathers death. No one will be expecting it.
Sorry, for the loss.

I feel for you. Short notice deaths are always hard, so many things can be left unfinished. On the other hand, what a wonderful way to go; peacefully, in his sleep after being with family. I hope that's my ticket out...

My condolences. As others have noticed, a sudden loss of a friend or family member is sometimes difficult to deal with, I've been there too.
Take time for family and things will be alright :)

So sorry. Loss of a family member is always tough but as was said, remember the good times and if ya gotta go then in your sleep is a good way to go.
