TWO questions - I tested according to FSM. meter between B & C shows a closed circuit. It should be open. I'm assuming that says it is bad. Is there a trick to getting to it for replacement?? Sure looks like a bugger to do.

Not really a bad job, a couple of wobble extensions and a universal joint would help.

Are you reaching it from the bottom or the top??

CPS changes from the bottom. You can unplug the wires at the connector from the top, but the sensor is accessed from below. For me, it was all about putting myself in just the right place, at the right angle, then it went OK. Doing the second one went without much fuss.

Thanks, I know what you mean! Doing my neutral switch the first time took me 3 hours, the second time 5 minutes. In doing my research it looks like the CPS is something we should all carry a spare of. Mine seemed to be a situation where a hot motor (doing the smog test) caused it to mess up which was a good warning of future potential problems.
