Looking to connect up with some more local locals. We have a lot of 4X areas around here and would like to hook up with some people that can head out for single day runs around here! I have noticed a growing number of XJ owers on-line who are from here...lets get together!!!!! (wife won't let me go out alone anymore!!)

Corona???!!! Does it come with lime? Just poking fun...I gotta go to Corona every other weekend (son is on a paintball team and they practice at SC Village) Any cool areas around your place? Maybe I can drop the rodent off and head out for some wheelin' around there......
I'm going to keep a list of those interested and set up some rides. I'll post them here and on the unofficial trail ride forum.....

There is nothing challenging. There is a smal area to go flex your rig out and a small, but good rock garden in it. I ussaly go there at night (mkaes things interesting when you cant see squat) I have been setting up runs for www.Rockcrawler.com for the SoCal guys, just got back from our first BIG trail ride. We had about 15 Jeeps show up and we ran GoldMountain, JohnBull, and Holcomb this last weekend. Check out the site and the bulleten boards, Im there as "RENEGADE"...always been around that place for a while. Right nw I belive we are setting something up for Asuza Canyon once the water level goes down, and Isham Canyon once the weather cools off.

Hey -

New guy here. I am in Poway, a bit north of San Diego.

I have no idea where to go wheeling around here other than driving up Black Mountain or going to the desert.

I'm ready to go!

C000L! I was born and raised in Poway. Even I don't know of any whelin' in Poway. Have you ever been to Los Coyotes by Warner Springs? SoCal Chapter is going there August 8th and 9th. Keep your eye on this forum for posts from me to head out for some day runs....We also have Corral Canyon by lake Morena that has some great trails.

Sounds like fun. Hopefully my Jeep will actually be able to get me through.

I only have a 3" lift, 31's, factory limited slip and factory skids. Would that be enough to hit los Coyotes without too much damage?

If so, I will make it out there!

Not a problem....you don't halfto thrash in order to have fun at Los Coyotes. Just watching I bet would be worth the trip in a Honda car! Just keep reading these forums and you will get a good idea what others are doing with thier rigs...yours would fit right in with the vast majority of them!! Mine included!!!

I'm up in Temecula and can hook up on some runs when time permits... just moved down from San Jose area last year so not too familiar with local trails.

I am always down for wheeling. I went out to Corral Canyon on Sunday with some guys from socalxj.com, we all had a blast. There seems to be a good crowd out in San Diego. I just moved back here in June and don't know many trails so if you want to do a run, count me in.

Oh yeah, I have a ZJ so don't hate on me, it is still a cherokee.:D

I will look into getting some rock rails for my Jeep, but I do not think I will get them by August 8th.

Who should I get in touch with if I want to tag along at Los Coyotes? Is there a site somebody could recommend that I could look up more info on the trails there?

I definitely want to go!

Kevin...was there anything left of the burnt out Dodge on the hill?
TWCguy...just show up!!! Unfortunantly I will not be going to Los Coyotes this time...but others will. I don't think they have a web-site. The tribe that owns the land has been said to be one of the tribes that has been left behind in the casino/tribe connection....not much money....but great people anyway!!
P.S. Any Jeep is okay with me!!

I didn't drive up to the dodge, but one guy in the group did, he said there wasn't much there. You can see it on the hill in the pics:

I live in Corona also and go up to Big Bear quite often...

But for a diversion there is the Area off Ortega Hwy that can get hairy in places... So if ur kid needs 2 or 3 hours for his thing that should be perfect...

Hey KirksGC -

I'm over in Poway, if you find something to do around here shoot me a PM. Seems like there is never much to do around here.

In a 2wd, the desert can still be pretty fun...

I'm another Mira Mesa guy, 96 4x4, 4" Rusty's lift, 4 different 31x10.5's, no grille, and a crushed left front fender, and of course the classic cracked exhaust manifold, so if you guys get together, be sure to let me know - i'd love to hit some trails

Funny reading through this OLD arse thread.

In any event, I recently stumbled upon a wiki site for wheeling places. Someone needs to add Calico and a bunch of other places. But there's a lot already there.

So this seems to be a relatively hot thread going here! Anyway I am in Oceanside.....kinda in the middle of all you guys. Would be really nice to go wheel soon but have a slight steering problem. Need new drag link and tie rod and don't know how well what I have will hold up on the trail. What the hell when are we going next? A jeepers life...........wheel it........break it.............work to get money...............fix it.............repeat! Send me a PM or hell even call when you are gonna go on a weekend day trip.NAXJA

I'll pop in and say Hi. I just got my lift done at the end of Dec. and my first minor trip out was this last Sunday. Buddy of mine was racing out at Plaster City, so I went down and watched a little then drove up to Octotillo Wells ORV. Left there to go home and watch those damn Chargers throw away the game. Should have stayed out wheelin'

I'd wheel but my calender/wallet/status of buildup doesn't really permit it.

Someday though, someday
