Replacing TCU

It would appear my next step is to put in another TCU as I've checked everything else that I know about.
If I look in a wrecking yard for a used TCU what years would work in my 95?
Are there other questions I should ask but don't know enough to think of?

What's the Jeep doing that you've diagnosed as a bad TCU?

95 and back, 96 and up don't have a TCU module some 95 don’t either.

Hmmm first answer is trans will shift manually but not auto.
2nd answer I'm just assuming what I'm looking at is a TCU. It is mounted in the dash (lower panel) under the glove box. It looks like the picture someone posted in another topic. That picture showed a single fuse recepticle taped to the loom for the plug connecting into the end of the "box". I'm guessing mine needs a fuse too but putting one doesn't cxhange anything.
