No Start

I have an 89 Wagoneer that won't start. It needs a boost to swing over but won't start. My buddy and I looked at it and we put a test light between the postive battery terminal and the positive lead, which was disconnected, and the light came on. This would indicate something gone to ground right? Anybody have this problem? or, know where I can start to look? The old Renix rat nest is confusing the crap out of me, lol.

I'd start at the fusible links. Pull all of them, then put your test light on them and see which circuit is the one pulling power. At least then you'll know what part of the truck you need to look at.
