My water pump is leaking from this hole - located at about the 6-o'clock position of the pump when mounted.

* Is it some sort of freeze plug?
* Does anyone know why I shouldn't just seal it?
* What should I use?:
RTV?
JB Weld?
Bubble Gum?

Time for a new water pump! That's a weep hole. Pony up and get a Mopar OE water pump, so you get a quality pump.

It's a "weep" hole. As your seal wears out anti-freeze will start to seep out of the hole so that you should notice that your loosing fluid and investigate. So you can replace your pump before your pump goes out. When your seal goes your bearings aren't very far behind.

Yea, I'm weeping! :rattle:
The FSM only has one reference to it.
It says "The housing has a small hole to allow seepage to escape."
You mean it's meant to be a kind of wear-sensor?
