Ok just looked through what the search turned up and it seems the older xj's have some problems to deal with or at least when switching between years. So My question is this, for my 98, does anybody know what I have to exactly get from the junkyard to do the swap? ie. just MC and booster? or do I need a proprtion valve, pedal assembly, switch, etc?
My 8.8 in the rear should be stopping better and after reading one persons post about not being able to slow idling tires off the ground, I think im in a similar boat as in the winter, I hit the brakes in the slick and the rears keep turning.

Oh and the sensors are long gone and 2 of the three fuses are gone for the abs. I could really use the space that pump is taking up too.
thanks for any and all help!

I don't know the differences on the later years but the early years have differences in the pedal assemblies between ABS and non-ABS. The early Bendix POS ABS and the newer ABS system are two very different things so take all this with a grain of salt. I would pull the complete non-ABS system (prop valve, pedals and all). Make sure you get the pedals out of the donor vehicle and have them handy when you do the swap.
Heck, I even pulled the brake lines out of the two donor vehicles for templates when doing my ABS swap out.
