I have heard that shackles will ruin stock packs quite quickly.

Would only 1" of shackle lift kill my stock leafs?

Would driveline vibes occur with one inch of lift?

Would 1" put stress on the tcase?

Would I need to correct the driveline angles with only 1" of lift? Or would the shackle be enough to correct it?

I run about 1" lift (1.8" longer than stock) shackles. But mine's a DD and never sees a trail.

Shackle lift will not kill the leafs all by itself. Overflexing the springs on the trail without longer bumpsops or carrying/towing large loads consitently may kill them quicker with longer shackles, but those things kill the stock XJ leafs eventually anyway.

Vibes depends on year and the rig. My 98 aw4 8.25 XJ picked up a slight vibe (to the point that I rebuilt the shaft and then dropped the t-case a bit to band aid -- hey it's a DD). Then again I am real picky and travel lots of highway. If you have a pre-96 you would be pretty sure to have ZERO problems unless they were pre-exisiting issues. Replace the joints anyway real soon and you will be set.

1" lift will not really "stress the t case" any more at all.

I think adding a very soft extra leaf like an XJ main leaf (the rocklizard bb I think?) would do you better in the long run but 1" shackle should work fine for yas.

not enough to create an adverse angle....slap'em in and go.

longer shackles ruined my leaf pack. I had the Rocklizard boost and was very happy till I tried to add shackle lift and flattened out my packs.
