im so ticked!!! i live in south mississippi, hell after KATRINA, lost my house to 28 feet of storm surge! livin in a tent......still, ok, ive lived down here my whole life, well in my area were kinda limited to trails, people trash out areas so they get closed and turned into huntin clubs. well im goin right down the start of a trail right down from my property, i see a big pile of something around the turn, it was a huge pile of shingles someone has been dumping!! (now the area has always been clean, no trash) the trailer was right next to the pile still full of shingles...two flat tires. so im writing the tag number down when i see a truck coming down the trail. i get back in my jeep and they start to go past when i said,"hey, ya'll know whose trailer that is?", the guy driving says its his, i told them i was calling it in and reporting them for dumping. well they werent to happy, it was about 6 guys and im by myself, they get out yellin and cussin at me so i drive off... i look back and i see them cut a donut and start chasin me!! so i take off a little faster to get away i get down to the trails and they couldnt keep up(Z-71 cant hang) so i get in touch with the forestry commission, give them the info. theyre gonna handle it, i went back today, happened yesterday, i look and the trailer was gone and the people had unloaded the rest of the trash all over!!!! it ticks me off so much cuz this is my area and these people are comin down here to work and makin good money$$$ and someone from somewhere else is dumpin here!!! not that dumpin from anyone is good, its just the dumps 4 miles down the road... just thought id let ya'll know im tryin to do my part to keep it clean!

Props to that. I have no respect for trail trashers, or litter buggs. I don't want to look at that crap eather.

Should've been here last night - after the Tournament of Roses (http://www.tournamentofroses.com/) parade was over, there were doorways here with literally four feet of garbage piled up in them. Of course, it's been raining so now all this crap is going to clog up the storm drains - though the used diapers left on the sidewalk and in the street are more of a concern. People were here overnight at most; why the hell can't they put their garbage in a bag and take it away with them?

You shouldn't have said anything to them, let em get caught in the act.
casm: I went to the Rose Parade about 13 or 14 years ago, the amount of trash afterward was amazing. In some places, you couldn't see pavement.

I hear ya'. Keep up the good work!
If you're ever out on a National Forest and you find a road gated and you're thinking, "Hey! This is public property. Why are you locking me out?" Trash! That's why, 90% of the time. If those roads weren't gated they would fill with trash from one end to the other. And it's not just an eye sore, it's an ecological threat.
Down here, we participate with the state and local goverment and private interests on a trash day. The time that volunteers spend actually picking up trash off of federal property is about 3 hours. We can fill 4 roll-off dumpsters in one three hour period. And that's not counting special efforts to pick up tires, appliances, and hazardous waste. It sucks, but it's a fact of life and it's a drain on our budget. We spend a lot of time just picking up the damn forest.
