Hi. Ive been seartching throgh here trying to find how to go about changeing my alternator I have a 89 Laredo and just wondering if i have to take my front skid plate off to do it or if i can be pulled from the top. Any instie would be greatly appreicated. Thanks

I just did this job, not very hard, unhook the negative battery cable first, draw a diagram of the belt and remove the alternator, you need to work it out from the bottom , it's a tight fit but it comes out , go slow and you'll do fine

I've done the procedure also -- the hardest part was dealing with a bottom bolt that snapped off. Working from the bottow is easiest. Make sure you have a ratcheting wrench, as there is not much room to rotate the handle.
