i herd that the housing of a D44 is a inch longer then the D35 and that i would need to get a shorter drive shaft. jsut seeing if this is true. thanks
 
Yes, it is longer. The driveshaft out of a 5 speed standard cherokee is 1 inch shorter than the auto. Others have just lifted their rig and it takes up the slack.
