Sequence Number is basically a waiting list.
The way it was explained to me, is that the Army promotes throughout the year. The Senior NCO ranks must wait for vacancies to become available (promotions, retirement, etc)
Each month, depending on the demand, certain sequence #'s are promoted. This continues throughout the year until the list is exhausted.
Thanks everyone.
John.

The Marine Corps promotes Staff NCO ranks the same way, just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same thing. Seq 249 means you're going to pin on that second rocker pretty soon after FY'04 doesn't it?

I believe so, I just have to get my butt to ANCOC (Advanced NCO Course) The good thing is that it's here on Knox, and I can slip right in if someone no-shows the course.

Congratulations John-Boy. Now go out and buy yourself something fun to celebrate! :D
I'm heading out in a couple of weeks to our NCO academy, which is the AF's equivalent to the Army's ANCOC. I just wish we had the Army's promotion rates. Sigh.....oh, well. Again, great job!

Well, If the Air Force wouldn't have seceded from the Army in the 50's, you would!
I've actually thought about buying something after I'm promoted. Unfortunately I'm too frugal to go out and buy a new Vehicle (Mortgage, blah blah blah) But I'm gonna have one Hell of a Promotion party.......BTW....ALL NAXJA members are invited...date TBD
Thanks.

I've had blues for years....The Army pays for them when you become a recruiter.
The only Army formal I like is the Armor/Cavalry Ball

We may be able to invite the snipers, but the guys with the AT-4's (Bazooka) would probably get us.

Congrats Sarge...
I wish I had stuck around the Army, as I'd have 18 in as of April 1.
19D BNCOC at Knox was SO fun it should have been (prolly was) illegal. That big NCO club next to the museum was a hoot.
After the FTX I got a room at the (Wickham?Abrams) Guest House and actually took a bath...LOL as in bath, hot, 1 each, w/bubbles :D Other than that, it seems like all I remember from those 6 weeks was watching Paula Abdull vids at the Copple Club :dunno: selective memory

Woody, I didn't know you were a Scout!
Yeah, BNCOC is a blast but they changed it so you can't have alcohol in the barracks. I don't know how long it's been, but PLDC and BNCOC are now where 194th used to be and the NCO club is between there and Disney barracks.
PS I'll let you get away with "Sarge" just this once.
:D :D :D
