I am putting my zj rear disc off my old 8.25 on to my recently purchased 8.25 thats geared and locked. To get the backing plate off for the disc brakes requires me to take the shafts out. Does any body have an easy way to get them out? The shafts are c-clipped in right?

Pull the cover pull the c-clips, pull the shafts.
Sorry but its the only way.
and thats the easy way...
but you gotta pull the locker apart too. have fun and don't screw up the re0install.

Yeah, for sure, if the cross shaft doesn't slide back in easily, do not tap it with a hammer, you will break a part in the locker b/c it isn't assembled correctly. Don't ask how I know this...
