I have a 8.25 axle in need of wheel bearing replacement and have never this before. I want to know the process being that the Haynes manual isn't to precise. My understanding is the bearings are retained in the axle end, that I will need to remove the dust seal and then..... what? Any special tools I would need, thing to look out for, and so on would be of great help.
Thanks,

Yes the C-clip 8.25 axle has the bearings in the housing ends. Problem is if the bearings are bad so most likely are the shafts since the roller bearing ride directly on the shafts. It is common for them to get pitted and need replacement. You do need a bearing puller and installer tool.
