I see an "S" load of lifted XJ's around lately. Both body styles. I figured maybe some of the owners are here online. I can think of six lifted Cherokees off the top of my head right now. Anyone from near here?

There's four of us down here, and quite a few out in western. Don't know about between 24 and 3.

there are quite a few local clubs in the eastern MA and RI area with some serious XJs. i think most people like to keep to a single club and/or group of friends.

Mike, do those clubs get involved on a political scale with land issues as at all, that you're aware of?

If you all don't get involved with land closures for wheelin, don't cry about not having places to wheel.

hey a lot of them are kids in or graduated last year from the vocational schools in the area. I use to go to ssvt in hanover and when i went there were about 4 or 5 kids with xjs most of them werent stock. my brother goes there now and he says they are everywhere. I would think you being that close to brocton that you would see a lot more rice rockets and kids trying to street race I know more kids in that area with rice rockets then i do xjs but I haven't been in the area in a while

Yup! there 's ricers here and I'm fixin' to show 'em up! They travel up Rt. 27 past my street and I can hear the coffee can exhaust from my house. I'm gonna build up my XJ to beat them from the light (it never fails... they always line up on the wrong side and try to git past.)

It's stock except for a Gibson exhaust. I want to cover acceleration/braking and handling.
1) Poly bushings on both swarbars, Monroe Sensi-tracs F&R then see how she feels.
2) Bored TB, TB spacer, FIPK, header and ignition/tune up stuff.
3) Swap a pair of 4cyl axles w/ 4:10's in them with a locker and switch to an NP 242 for all-wheel-drive.
4) In the future, do the 4.6 thing.
I've built quite a few 4x4's including an 87 XJ and I just want to try something different.

how do you like the gibson exhaust? I don't think you will need the TB spacer if you get it bored out, it wouldnt hurt but boring out the TB will be enough improvement

Well, I like it a lot. Had it on my 87 and now one on my 93. Sounds great and seems to free up a bit of seat-of-the-pants hp. Goes in and fits like a charm with factory hangers.
Regarding the TB spacer, I'll have to look up the differences. I wonder what the changes are with;
1) Spacer
2) Bored TB
3) Combo of both.

Yes, there are associations of clubs that get involved politicaly. We dont all just sit back and wait for trails to get closed. The best thing people can do it join clubs and get involved.
