console programming

i just put a new overhead console in my 91 cherokee, the old one quit working, the compass isnt reading correct what do i do to get it working right? all the wiring is factory, i got the console off ebay and it works fine, so is there a way to reprogram it? thanks.

Did you try a search? I've seen this discussed before...something about having to drive around in circles 3 times to calibrate the compass. I can't remember if you have to push any buttons though...

ive tried the search and found nothing what im looking for, and driving in circles doesnt work cuz i was cutting donuts in someones yard and it reads wrong directions.

Yeah you need to set the variation number. That should correct your problem. Fallow the link from the previous post.
