building roof rack

i plan on fabricating my own roof rack soon
as far as the roof rack goes it'll be a sinple rectagular box design nothing fancy

but my question is i dont have a luggage rack system on my jeep
so whats the best way of attaching the roof rack?
gutter clamps?

maybe some PICS of gutter clamps you build would help

any other advice would be great

An option to building your own roof clamps is to go to a Pick a Part and find a van that has a ladder roof rack and scavenge those.
