lift and flares

if I only lift 3" (skyjacker 3" standard) and add bushwacker flares, how big can my tires be? anyone have a setup like this?

33's or so. if you use bumpstops and trim appropriately. and rims with smallish backspacing.

looking at crager rims with 4.75" backspace. should these work? don't want to have to bumpstop if i dont have to. do i need to consider a modified LCA to clear tires?

if you don't bumpstop - and plan on actually wheeling - pretty much ANY larger tire you put on there will rub. on fender, on LCA's, on shock tower, etc... you'd likely do better with like 3.75" BS.
